I agree, not only for the presidency but house and senate too in both parties?!! Being a congressman or a senator, should not be a lifetime job/career and we should have term limits too?!!

Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) on Sunday said she would support President Biden if he runs for reelection in 2024, but argued the Democratic Party needs a “new generation” and “new blood” in power.

“He’s the sitting president. If he decides to run again, I’m going to support him, the party’s going to support him. You know, that has a long history in our country,” Slotkin told NBC’s “Meet the Press” guest host Kristen Welker. “But I have been very vocal, including with my own leadership in the House, that we need a new generation, we need new blood, period, across the Democratic Party.”

The White House confirmed last week that Biden “intends” to run in 2024 after he reportedly told civil rights leader the Rev. Al Sharpton that he would seek reelection.

While Biden saw low approval ratings throughout the spring and early summer amid high inflation and several crises, his numbers have since climbed after notching several victories.

In the span of a few months, the president oversaw passage of the historic climate and health care legislation, the Inflation Reduction Act, announced relief for student loan borrowers and declared he would pardon thousands convicted for simple marijuana possession.

Yes you do need new blood. The Democrats are run by a bunch of octogenarians. We Republicans are going to fix that problem for you in November.

On one hand I like the idea of new blood and the feeling of “throw the bums out” but then ultimately you tend to get more of the same, just with different people (regardless of party).

I think Biden is doing a great job. Better than Clinton and Obama.

The Democrats could decide to go with a real YOUTH movement and get some Young D's nominated. You know,...people in their early to mid 70's or so.

We want new blood and term limits yet continue to vote for the same incumbents (from our party). I don't know how "new" members would be any different from former members.

Examples of new blood: Marjorie Taylor Greene, AOC, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, Ilhan Omar---improvements?

With your own bunch of elderly porkers like #TRE45ON, McConnell, et al? :rofl2:

I agree with the OP. The (D)s are doomed unless they start promoting younger candidates. And by "younger" I mean younger than 50 or 55.
