Congressman George Santos Charged With Conspiracy, Wire Fraud, False Statements, Falsification of Records, Aggravated Identity Theft, and Credit Card Fraud

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – A 23-count superseding indictment was filed today in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, charging George Anthony Devolder Santos, better known as “George Santos,” the United States Representative for the Third District of New York, with one count of conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States, two counts of wire fraud, two counts of making materially false statements to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), two counts of falsifying records submitted to obstruct the FEC, two counts of aggravated identity theft, and one count of access device fraud, in addition to the seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the United States House of Representatives that were charged in the original indictment. Santos is due back in federal court in Central Islip on October 27, 2023.

They will not dump him. I don't think almost 100 Republicans will vote to oust him.

Why? Is that where you draw the line? Gaetz/Jordan are guilty. Dozens of Republicans support domestic terrorism.

But you draw the line at indictments? You do realize that a guilty verdict still doesn't get rid of Santos?

US Congressman Alcee Hasting was an Impeached Federal Judge that ran for office and was elected.

They could expel Menendez from the Senate if they were sincere if they were sincere. :laugh:

A special election will guarantee a Dem win, as he pulled off an upset in a Blue district by lying about...everything.

Turnout was big for this election due to a close governor's race. The Right Wing loons came out in the hopes of ousting Hochul.

NY had illegal districts imposed by an out of state special master. Those districts are now being changed and in November next year will better reflect the will of the voters.

Not even close. The vote wasn't even 50/50

They cannot afford to lose any seats. They claim to be waiting for the ethics committee to finish, but there is no way in hell they expel him even then.

It takes a 2/3rds vote but I doubt it will happen. I'm not sure if Santos is gulity of a crime or not. That is for the court to decide. We all know he lied to get in office but so did Biden . Remember him saying his son did not get money out of China? And he said Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation. That is no better than lying on your resume. Ultimately it's up to the voters to replace Santos or Biden. They are both losers.
