Moreover, recoveries continue to outnumber new cases in the state. Out of the 1,91,446 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 33 samples tested positive for the Covid-19 infection and as a result the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) slumped to lower than 0.01 per cent in Uttar Pradesh, the state government data showed.
In the same period, 25 patients recovered from the infection. The active caseload in the country's most populous state has been reduced to 187 from a high of 3,10,783 in April, pushing the recovery rate up to 98.7 per cent, the state government said in a release.

________
Enviable Covid stats for a heavily populated province in India. Or, anywhere.
What do they do? Three of the usual things that hardly ever work and everyone does and one thing that hardly anyone else does. Aggressive contact tracing, testing, vaccinations and….wait for it..home treatment kits with Ivermectin. Also, prophylactic Ivermectin on exposure and/or for healthcare workers.
This is a bang your head against the wall moment for us logic addicts. Why aren’t we doing this here? Ivermectin is a *cheap*, well known drug with a long established risk profile. And the risks are low. Since we are already living a mass vax experiment using novel biotechnology, why not go all the way with it?
Why not have a cohort use prophylactic Ivermectin while the other gets the vax? There seems to be no shortage of volunteers for the first group. Right? Something is working in India and the one thing they are doing that we aren’t is prophylaxis and early treatment with Ivermectin.
Staying home until you are sick enough to be admitted to the hospital doesn’t seem to be cutting it. Besides, it’s barbaric.
