The concept that human life has value comes from the Torah, the Hebrew traditions. It was utterly unique among men. The Christians adopted the same value of life.

The Greek tradition of eudaimonia held life only has value through virtue and achievement, that the masses have no value. I know that it distresses you as a leftist and hence an Antisemite, but the fact is that the concept that all life has value is a very Jewish one - strongly rejected by Islam.
