It would depend on the setting. There is a time and place for gay jokes, and there are also times and places where it isn't appropriate. If a comedian can't match up the humor to the environment, he deserves to be fired.
 
Interestingly, jokesters, and late night "comedians" would never make that same kind of joke about a FEMALE world leader.

Liberals are closet racists, homophobes etc. Liberals, deep down, love racism and homophobia. Not all of them, but I have met enough in my life to know that most are. My cousins, who are deeply "liberal" are now seeing my independent view point. We agree on this and that, but don't agree on other things. We aren't republicans vs. democrats, we are family, that have viewpoints and not all viewpoints fit into the two party mold. This younger people need to wake up.

We need a third party.
 
Colbert, the liberal homophobe, will be given a pass by other liberal homophobes, exactly as the liberal homophobes here give pass to their fellow liberal homophobes. lol
 
When I was younger and (I imagine) a great deal prettier, I had to beat off quite a few hopeful homosexuals, so they have never been my favourite class of people, but it is 'comedians' who specialise in putting down others for what they can't help who are the real pain in the arse. I'd have hoped simple good taste would have seen them off by now, but there are a lot of archaic nasties in the world, or how could Trump ever have been elected?
