We created the DoE under Carter. The average SAT scores peaked in 1962. Things have been going awry for some time.

I can name the Gulag camps my uncles were put in. Most of them ended up in the Vorkuta camp system.

As cruel as the Gulag was, there is a very fundamental distinction between it and the Holocaust: the Gulag was intended for forced labor, not mass murder.

People may have died in the Gulag due to extreme climate, illness, lack of medical treatment. But Stalin wanted slave labor. His goal was not to murder Gulag inmates. To the best of my knowlege, all my relatives who were sentenced to the Gulag survived. The Gulag was a crime against humanity, but I never conflate it with the holocaust.

The Nazi death camps were clinically engineered and operated for one purpose: industrial scale mass murder of Europe's Jews. That kind of industrial scale mass murder is unprecedented in human history.

As per usual, I believe you are lying.

I do not know a single person in real life who claims people of the Jewish faith are committed terrorists.

I have seen some people on this board be highly critical of the rightwing governments of the State of Israel and their treatment of Palestinian civilians.

The survey found that most respondents had heard of the Holocaust and 37% knew that 6 million Jews died. Slightly more than half could name at least one concentration camp or ghetto.

But 11% of the respondents believed the Jews were responsible for the Holocaust, 15% said they thought the Holocaust was a myth or has been exaggerated, and 20% said people talk about it too much. Nearly half said they had seen Holocaust denial online.

Some are even critical to the point of wanting it eliminated, but, you probably don't notice those people, either.

Also, it's not slander to remind people of why you exiled yourself from this site for a few years.

The ' Holocaust ' is the term applied to the Nazi program of liquidating ALL of the minority groups and other people that it wanted rid of, colored folk, gays, Gypsies, communists, whoever. Of the other fourteen million victims the Gypsies refer to their own suffering as ' The Devouring '.
The Jewish victims refer to the horrors inflicted upon Jews as ' The Shoa '.

The point of reminding people of this is that it is incorrect to associate the Holocaust with Jews without acknowledging up to fourteen million other victims.
Those that want to discuss the industrial-scale slaughter strictly in terms of the Jewish victims should use the term ' Shoa ', as Jews do.

Shoah is the Hebrew word for “catastrophe”. This term specifically means the killing of nearly six million Jews in Europe by Nazi Germany and its collaborators

On Holocaust remembrance day all that were murdered are remembered in synagogues Romani people , righteous gentles, homosexuals, communists and the disabled etc

My dude, come on, that's completely different. You have an actual connection to the Gulags. The average American can't name a single one of those camps and that's understandable.

The point is that most crimes against the humanity are ignored in America. Pretty much all we're taught about is the Holocaust and the transatlantic slave trade. So for people to not know that much about the Holocaust is hardly a big deal. I'm more concerned that they don't know about all the other mass murders.
