I believe we've all learned that the Mid East will never be stable under any type of Democracy. Obama regrets joining the U.N in Libya, without a viable govt. in place.

The whole flap started when rebels accused Assad of using chemical weapons. Russia negotiated a surrender of all chemical weapons...which now proves to be a big mistake. If Assad simply gassed ISIS back then, we wouldn't even know who they are now.

there WAS a viable gov't in place! It was qadaffi, and he was beating back the NTC-until we decided on backing the al-Qaeda influenced NTC.
Then Hillary called for regime change..etc...

How do you impose a government after fracturing a state? especially without "boots" - it's all smoke and mirrors bullshit from Obama & Clinton :palm:

I wouldn't say "never" either..Egypt is fairly stable, if not a full fledged western democracy

Tha was Kerry as Sec. of State. The Russians saved our asses from "red line" dithering - or gawd knows what we would have done.

The chem weapons would not have changed the war. they are of limited use (windblown) and even more barbaric the Assad's barrel bombs

Clearly, you haven't been paying attention. Gadaffi's govt was about to fall....unless of course his carnage of his own people was allowed to continue.

The chem weapons would have stopped the ISIS uprising when it started.

Morsi was awful -overturning secularism, and letting the Sinai turn into a rats nest of terrorism.

Man you have really swallowed the revisionists, hook line and sinker. The fighting was all in the east -none of it in Tripoli .
The rebels were all but defeated -they were getting pounded - Misrata was encircled.
It took US/NATO to drive Qaddafi back. Only then could they start moving to Sirte, etc.

It wasn't even a populist revolution-they didn't pick up popular support -just western intervention.

You're entitled to your own opinions,but not your own facts
