The electoral college was put into the constitution the insure that if the people selected a candidate who was not qualified and who got less than the majority of the nation's vote there would be an alternate way to correct the situation and elect a qualified person to become the chief executive of the country.
This is exactly what we have and this is exactly what will happen.
