NBC News is facing harsh criticism from Hillary Clinton's campaign and her supporters for publishing an article on a coughing fit the Democratic presidential nominee experienced on Monday in Cleveland.

Clinton traveling press secretary, Nick Merrill, slammed the report on Twitter, writing to Rafferty, “get a life.”

President Obama's former speechwriter Jon Favreau did likewise, asking, “Is there anyone at NBC, or anywhere else, who's willing to defend this story?”

MSNBC's Ari Melber called it "one of the worst coughing fits" he had ever seen while anchoring coverage of Clinton's Cleveland rally on Labor Day.

Who raised those questions?

You think a good news editor joins in on a partisan-driven fear campaign that has no foundation in truth? That's good journalism?

nope.....but bad journalists ignore facts due to a partisan-driven fear that your candidate might lose votes because someone noticed her coughing for two minutes.....

Good journalists have been pointing out Trump's narcissism* for months yet cons ignore it.

Put on your editor's hat.

Is "the cough" newsworthy? If so, why?

I don't know. If it were the occasional cough or garden variety allergy I'd say no. But these are prolonged spells of coughing by Hillary and she IS running for president, so yeah I'd let it stand.

Also, you can pretty well surmise they're having trouble controlling it or it wouldn't be happening in front of the press. It may be simple allergies but with Hillary's credibility issues that doesn't make it neccessarily so.

Because of a cough?

people have been running for president for well over two hundred years......tens of thousands of campaign speeches have been given.......how many of them were interrupted for over two minutes by a coughing spell?........have YOU ever been interrupted for two minutes by a coughing spell?........

The cough is made worse by her trying to control it. You are a healthcare person knows if she would just cough and get it under control before trying to speak, but because of the coverage and speculations, Clinton tries to recover while trying to speak and it exascerbates the problem.

I have had this happen to me before.

She needs to relax and not worry about all the nut cases that thinks she is dying!
