Higher Gas Prices Are Good For The Climate

Hello cawacko,

Somebody must be using it:

"The Los Angeles Metro Rail is a transportation system serving the city of Los Angeles in California. It began operation in July 1990 and consists of 6 lines, 93 stations and is operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. All lines run seven days a week between 05:00 - 24:00."

LA Metro Rail

Do you think all those trains are running around empty?

If you have to ask the question you haven’t spent time in LA

Volvo says manufacturing an EV generates 70% more emissions than its ICE counterpart

Electric vehicles (EVs) have always been championed as the best solution to save our polar bears, but according to a new study published by Volvo, manufacturing an EV actually generates up to 70% more carbon emissions as compared to the good ol’ internal combustion engine (ICE) car.

Yep, and 80% of the batteries are manufactured in China, mostly using COAL.

“Under my plan … electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”.

And where does most electricity come from, Leftists?

Maybe this will cause more people to adjust their driving habits.

Drive less. Plan multi tasking trips to reduce driving. Accelerate more gradually. Coast more. Learn to time the signals. Park quickly nearer the street entrance. Walk further to the door.

Saves gas, saves money, saves the climate, saves the brakes, saves the tires.
I've been doing it for decades. why i can drive a 20+ year old car, I've had to do a valve job & gasket replacement and new suspension, paint job -and the usual repairs
but I havent had a car payment in 17 years.
I work at home (major) and if I do take along road trip i'll rent

Ill drive my Ford Taurus until I cant get parts, and that was a popular car,,still ticking

PS.dont take it out of gear unless you have a stick - slapping it in an out of gear stresses the automatic transmission, but you can certainly get to the speed limit, and then take the right hand land

What is hypermiling?
https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/104466/what-is-hypermiling-and-how-do-you-do-it
A hypermiler will start by evaluating whether they even need to drive at all - if a 5-minute drive can be replaced by a walk or cycle, then they'll do that instead. If they do need to drive, then they will plan a route that will be as direct as possible but that also needs the least amount of acceleration and braking. They will also try to drive at a time when traffic is less busy. Hypermiling is all about maintaining momentum, and the more braking and acceleration you do up hills or in heavy traffic, the less efficient your driving is.

This dopey old trollop pulls a 7 year old Huff Po article out of her arse, you just can't make that up!!

Before gas prices shot up, used electric vehicles were plentiful. Now you can't hardly find one. If you do, the price is high.

More people driving electric cars is good for the climate.
Try to explain the second law of thermodynamics to this pie in the sky Polly Anna.

Hello cawacko,

If you have to ask the question you haven’t spent time in LA

Trying to make it about me is like giving up on your argument.

I can only conclude that you are giving up on trying to establish that LA has no mass transit.
