Pointing out the unique circumstances being used in the OUTLIER study from NIH that Democrats endlessly cite as if it somehow magically represents the majority of research while contradicting most of the research's findings (and while thousands of doctors went on the record at the beginning of COVID saying they would use hydroxychloroquine for their own families, and that it's safe and very effective--links repeatedly provided on this) is declaring NIH a public enemy?

I wonder what it is about some ppl who constantly long for war? Even if they have to make up b.s. like "China created the COVID virus as a weapon."
 
Researchers in China have discovered a new bunch of coronaviruses in bats, of which, one is genetically very close to the virus we know as COVID-19.
The Chinese researchers did their research in a small part of the Yunnan province in China's southwest, and that has revealed several new coronaviruses in bats that may spread to people, researchers said.
Although the word coronavirus is today crudely used to refer to COVID-19, the US government's NIH actually defines it as a family of hundreds of viruses that sometimes cause "mild to moderate upper-respiratory tract illnesses, just like the common cold."
Now over the case of the past 20 year time period, we've only seen three new coronaviruses that have emerged from animals like pigs, bats, camels and cats that have been fatal and caused tremendous illness and death among humans. These include — severe acute respiratory syndrome or SARS which broke out in 2002, the Middle East respiratory syndrome or MERS which happened in 2012 and SARS-CoV-2 aka COVID-19, which emerged in China late 2019.


So in this case, because there was talk of bats being the culprit here, researchers Weifeng Shi and his team from the University of Shandong decided to pick samples from small, forest-dwelling bats between May 2019 and November 2020 as their test samplers. The animals' urine and faeces as well as taking swabs from their mouths.
"In total, we assembled 24 novel coronavirus genomes from different bat species, including four SARS-CoV-2 like coronaviruses," the researchers wrote in their journal published by Cell.
As per the researchers, one of the 24 coronaviruses in the the sample labelled RpYNO6 was found to be the closest strain yet to COVID-19, although it had genetic differences on the spike protein, the knob-like structure that the virus uses when attaching to cells.
"Together with the SARS-CoV-2 related virus collected from Thailand in June 2020, these results clearly demonstrate that viruses closely associated with SARS-CoV-2 still circulate in bat populations, and in some regions might occur at a comparatively high frequency," they stated in the journal.
A World Health Organisation (WHO) investigation in Wuhan earlier this year did conclude that bats were the likely source of COVID-19, but there is a possibility that the virus was also carried by another intermediary animal.

Exactly. I've only known one guy in my long life who was in combat and talked braggingly about how cool it was and how many ppl he (allegedly) shot. He claimed to be a gunner on a helicopter in VN. Either he was lying, or he was mentally ill.

1) Even by your logic...the people constantly smearing conservatives as warmongers...have gotten us into (and badly mismanaged) almost every war we've been in for a hundred years straight.

2) Since 9/11 was caused by eight years straight of Democrats appeasing, refusing to fight back against, and emboldening al Qaida as they attacked us over, and over, and over, and over again...I count it as yet another Democrat policy disaster, as well as the two wars it made necessary.

But if you want to count Bush having to clean up Bill Clinton's catastrophically spineless and incompetent failure to defend this country as "Republican wars," so be it. It's only the MAJORITY of wars that those calling others warmongers started then.
