Hezbollah, and Syria for that matter who jumped in, got stomped on. The IDF did pay attention to not using proxies in the future such as Lebanese Christian militias which were just as incompetent as Hezbollah et al.

No, the Russians have a lot of air defense systems but they aren't all that great. The ones Syria had to cover Hezbollah, who had none other than possibly a few MANPADS, were obsolescent export models that were older systems and easily defeated using electronic warfare and HARMs.
There was a whole laundry list of IDF and other government failure.
They promised never again but here we are, which is why they are rapidly losing the trust of the people...this is an complete government cluster fuck...and we know know that they have been lying for a very long time.
