that may be, but it's most likely that they shoot animals because it's an effective way of feeding their families. I'm positive that notion isn't idiotic and millions of hunters will back me on this one.

No one has disputed that it's an 'effective way' of feeding people. You can list all the 'noble' reasons, as Winterborn has, for why hunting is good. However, people who don't enjoy killing animals will not hunt, regardless of those 'noble' reasons, and will find other ways to feed their families.

I have never understood using the ignore function. I always thought the point of this place was to argue with people who don't agree with you.

you're just flat wrong. I don't like to hunt. haven't hunted for 30 years. But would do it again in a second if it meant feeding my family. That doesn't mean I'd enjoy it, just that it must be done.
