Many are, I'd say.
Many more are simply intellectually lazy followers who apply a sports team mentality to politics, IMO. Some vote Blue because their parents did.

My parents were Democrats. Not me. Only when I was young and stupid. When I matured I became a Republican. Now I'm so pissed at the Republicans that I changed my registration to No Party Affiliation.
