...At least for a little while. I stopped posting (99.999% in the current events forum) for a week just to see if I was addicted to this political babbling. I am happy to report that doesn't seem to be the case. I have good reasons to go away for a while, I was just having trouble articulating them until I found this:

I must say, Nick nailed it.

The most important reason though, is I have noticed a darkness creeping into my replies that can only be hate. Not just hate for ideas or positions, but hate for the humans who post them.

This is in direct conflict with my Christian beliefs. I have heard that I'm supposed to love the sinner and hate the sin (and of course, we are all sinners). It is getting to be difficult to distinguish between the sinner and the sin, so to speak, and if you are a leftist of any rank, rest assured I hate your ideas but I want to love YOU.

I'm also supposed to "shake the dust from my feet" (Matthew 10:14, where Jesus instructs his disciples to leave a town or home that does not welcome them and to shake off the dust as a sign of judgment against that place. This act symbolizes breaking ties with those who reject their message).

This is a beautiful design. The people of the town or home were allowed to return to their daily lives, and they probably forgot about the disciples very quickly, and the disciples could depart still loving the people, just as I will depart JPP and you will forget about me (if you haven't already), But I will be able to continue to love you.

Please know that these are just examples from the bible of how we interact with each other (the bible is the greatest owner's manual for a human soul in the universe), and the only sin I am addressing here is my own.

I just use JPP as recreation. Regardless of the tenor of my posts, I don't actually "hate" anyone. But - good call - when you start to take this shit seriously it is time to take a break.

I repeat the warning that Bret gave recently....that very smart people he knows from way back who years ago decided to completely leave social media have no idea what is going on..... they are done in with the constant lying of the elites through "reputable" sources.....they think that the manufactured mirages are real.
