What difference does it make what color their collars are? When you lose your working population, you lose your working neighborhoods and your tax base.

This is what happened to the inner cities. You can't sustain a strong economy without tax paying employed residents regardless of whether or not they are year around residents.

Yes we are becoming a state of rich and poor but it's for the most part sustainable as long as the rich continue to be willing to be taxed at high rates while maintaining the same level of productivity.
