The founders included a method for adding things to the Constitution which were not in it originally. Government run healthcare was not one of the delegated powers in the original document nor has it been added using the method of doing so set up by those same founders. If you claim it can be added by a simple majority partisan vote, it is quite evident you know nothing about the Constitution.

The Constitution is adaptable but not in the manner in which you want to adapt it.

The General Welfare Clause gives Congress broad authority to not only spend money for the 'general welfare', but gives them discretionary powers to determine what the'general welfare' is. Health care is a basic human right, and it is astounding to see any advanced country deny it to citizens. For God's sake give up this private insurance nonsense and get yourself a proper NHS.
