How can you love a sociopath? I concede the answer to your second question is no. Trump was wealthy and likely unrelenting in his pursuit, given his personality disorder. I'd imaging stockholm syndrome has a tight grip on her.

So when was that then? Was that during the Vietnam War when Americans used and abused Thailand? I am currently in a hotel in Udon Thani next to the airport, which was once a huge American airbase from which B52s flew to bomb North Vietnam and Cambodia. I, unlike you and most of your fellow countrymen, have travelled extensively and it's always a delight to meet Americans. It is also fairly rare as you guys don't like to venture very far yet somehow feel able to pontificate about the world.

My friends just came back from their family G rated two week stay there. From the facebook entries and speaking with them, it seemed lovely. Of course there is a reputation Thailand needs to overcome. The perv tourism sector is still an issue, no? Are you guys just speaking about Vietnam?

Yes there is sex tourism in Thailand, as indeed there is in the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mexico, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic and others. It also has some of the finest hotels and coastline in Asia. Bangkok is a very modern city with first class public transport with more being constructed as we speak. When I worked there in the 80s it used to be a nightmare to get about but it is really easy now with the Skytrain and Metro.

That's what attracts a large percentage of the visitors and it accounts for a significant portion of the tourism industry.

So of course, the authorities turn a blind eye towards it.

Sure there are, but currently what is going on with the Republicans is not on the same scale as what has been normal double standards for 100 years.

Trump is in fact outdoing almost all of the things they accused Obama of doing, and they are falling right into line.

They used to claim to be the party of Family Values and attacked any Democrat who was not what they envisioned as the 1950's ideal father and husband. Now they cant defend Trump's immorality fast enough. They don't care an inch about his three wives, his serial adultery, his children out of wedlock, his lack of being a father to his son, his wife's pornographic past. They are tripping all over themselves to justify it.

We need a strong Republican party, but they have completely capitulated over all the things they pretended mattered to them for decades.

This is not everyday double standards, this is not normal, this is beyond the pale.
