We are going to have to wait and see how the states handle something like a hurricane that destroys thousands of homes and as I said and you said the states have not budgeted any money for the help they will need.
States will have to either raise taxes to help pay for the next one or let their people go it alone.
IMO it is not going to be pretty.

It sure won't be. It's almost as though MAGATs have decided to remove the "United" from the name of the country and prefer to see America as a collection of independent fiefdoms, each with its own laws and government. The MAGAT-infested states who depend upon the rest of us, via the federal government, to keep them afloat are going to be up shit creek when there's no more FEMA, Medicaid, food stamps, and other public assistance that the rest of us chip in for to help them out.

And another thing the cuts that are in the BBB that don't go into effect until AFTER the mid-terms effect these same people , the top 10 states that use the federal programs they are cutting are red states and when these programs are cut and some gone these are the same people that will be hurt the most.
I don't know why they keep voting against their best interests but they do.
I guess it just shows us just how stupid MAGAS are.

Well I am sure the people of NY would love to have the 19 or so billion dollars left in their state and not give it to the fed.
Yes NY pays in over 19 B more then it gets back from the fed and has been paying in a LOT more then they get back for years.
It is about time red states start paying for the programs they get not the Blue states.

It might not be too long.
As we have already seen people that have been having floods and tornadoes have had to mostly go it alone and it is hurting Americans already.

Well I know one thing for sure when they had a flood here back about 10 years ago FEMA came in and did a good job helping the people that needed it and I haven't found one person here that would say other wise.

The states will be scrambling now to either find funds by cutting other things or raising taxes in order to provide what the federal govt. has removed. Or they will just shrug and say "fuck 'em" to all those who received public assistance. Either way, people will discover *BEFORE* the midterms what is going to hurt them badly. MAGATs think that only "illegals" and urban Blacks are going to be affected by the cuts, esp. to Medicaid. They are going to discover how very wrong they are.

I agree to a point. I like to believe that we are the UNITED states and that we look out for each other. When we were both working, we paid more in taxes than many low-income ppl make in a year. I didn't begrudge that money going to help less fortunate ppl, even if they lived in MIssissippi or West Virginia. They're still our people. It's both ironical and stupid though when red state MAGATs bash states like New York or California, while accepting their citizens' taxes just to have a decent standard of living.
