The point is will their financial connection sway them to make decisions that will help them and their companies instead of serving the people? As for that “If he had nothing to hide” business, let me give you a hint to getting out of and staying out of jury duty if that is your desire. Utter that phrase out loud during the voir dire when asked about the 5th amendment. The ONLY answer to that question is “yes, I understand that the defendant has the right to say nothing”.

While I agree, I prefer an established system of vetting for national politicians instead of this "honor system" we have now, since it's obviously not working.

FWIW, releasing Trump's IRS returns to the public is going a bit far. I do, however, strongly support a neutral party provide a sysnopsis of his statements. In Trump's case, his foreign investments, along with other large investments.
