He stood his ground?!! (Not?!!)

Oh so theeeeeeeeeeeeerree you are.

You know, I thought about your little tirade yesterday about "homophobe" being objectionable, so I fixed the thread to take away that particular distraction and...POOF...you just left.

I'm right here buddy. As a board addict I'm never too hard to find.

My comments yesterday were a tirade? I guess we can each have our own definition of what equates to a tirade. And unfortunately I did not leave, I'm still here.

It seems to me he shot him for tossing popcorn at him. That's a lot more justifiable, especially based on the dead guy's reaction to being told the theater rules.

You're going to shoot someone because they threw popcorn at you? Too much of a pussy to fight?

I knew Bill Hickock and believe me, Wild Bill would have shot the bastard for messin up his previews.

I support gun rights but too many people use guns because they cannot or are afraid to fight. At least if you fight you live to fight another day. Was this really worth it for the guy to spend the rest of his life in prison?

In this case the young guy threw popcorn in response to being told what the theater rules were. Perhaps it was a diversion to jump over the seat and physically attack the older man. If I'm an old geezer feeling threatened by a younger one, fighting may include my personal defense weapon.

I like my freedom too much. I'm not shooting a guy who threw popcorn at me.

My point is that you or I don't know the whole story. Obviously the younger guy threw the popcorn at the older guy to initiate a physical confrontation in response for being told what the theater rules were. Do you think that was reasonable?

That's fantastic.

This one is good, too. "We don't know the whole story but this is obviously what happened and what the one guy was thinking at the time."

Yes, technically you are correct. But that is beyond a negligible number.
That number is going up as society coarsens, the age of the person attacked increases, and respect for the elderly diminishes. With that in mind, if I were an old geezer, I may not like the odds.

And maybe the young guy tossed popcorn at or theatened the older man's wife. That would end it for me right then.

It is a fact that the younger guy threw popcorn in response for being told what the rules are. Undeniable.
