Yup, it is Reagan turning over in his grave. I did not agree with many of the policies of Reagan, but he would have never tolerate any of this.
Not going to happen any time soon, for a huge variety of reasons, but one is that China's government is not as solidly a dictatorship as Russia's. Also, China is more careful, more interdependent on the world, and its actions tend to be more subvert in that they have already gotten into Taiwan and are quietly extracting what they want and need.
Taiwan has been an independent nation for over 100 years, Ukraine was part of the USSR just 35 years ago.
Reagan would never have praised the leader of the USSR just after they had invaded a sovereign democracy.
Never! He would not have called Putin a genius, either.
Remember that impassioned speech by Reagan praising the USSR for invading Afghanistan? Or how about that beautiful speech calling upon the USSR to keep up the Berlin Wall? The reason you do not remember them is Reagan would never have said them.

Putin's move is only Genius, because of what Trump predicted, that our reliance and Europe's reliance on Russian oil, would allow him to do just this!
No, it is not genius. He miscalculated, he thought it would be like Crimea. This campaign will last long past 3 days, and it will take a deep toll on Russia that Putin had not calculated.
