Due to the U.S. president as admitted above, the U.S. federal government is in partial shut-down.

Trump has about 5 major administration positions to fill, including Chief of Staff. He has damaged European relations and threatened NATO. He has lost international respect for the US. His admin officials are quitting with the police on their heels. Mattis quit showing disrespect to Trump in how he did it, That makes 6 seats to fill. Trump has 6 of his friends who have been found guilty of crimes and almost nobody thinks the tally is close to closed. There are about 20 more indicted. Now we have the government shutdown. Trump did that too. This is a mess and portending even worse for the future.
Hows the stock market doing? The Majority of economists predict a recession soon.

What inflation is Powell worried about with 3% growth

It is not coincidence because the half-orange guy has seen a growing economy and interest rate cuts are one of the few tools the fed has other than reserve requirements to manage the economy so they needed to put the hammer back into their tool box.
