Harris: Reduce the Population and More of Us Can Drink Clean Water and Breathe Clean

Debunking the Myth of Overpopulation

One of the most popular and persistent ideas about the future of humanity is that population growth inevitably makes resources scarcer, eventually leading to a crisis of overpopulation. But this myth is not only false, it’s false in ways that provide deep insights into the nature of human action and economic progress.

Equating the availability of Tvs and refrigerators with clean air and water is laughable.

Naw, not really.

When I was born, the population of the planet was about 4 billion. Now, it’s around 8 billion.

Air quality
Water quality
Adequate housing
Food supplies

Those are all real problems in many parts of the world, aren’t they? Usually, the cause is overpopulation.

At some point, it will become unsustainable and we’ll have a self-correction. Probably not a good thing to have something like the plague to restore things to balance.

In these polarized times it seems rare to have an issue where people on each side of the political isle mix and match but this seems to be one.

At a high level, to me, with growth and new technologies the lack of resources won’t be a drawback (generally speaking). If the thinking is none of our resources can increase from today and therefore any new population growth lowers the pie for everyone else then it would be an issue. But with technological and economic advancement that’s not the case.

From an economic perspective look at the many countries with demographic issues who need immigrants for growth to pay out the benefits promised to seniors. Are people willing to accept less? I think many probably wouldn’t

Poor Kamala...she meant pollution...ooopps....https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing...e-change-and-building-a-clean-energy-economy/ "When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population [pollution], more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water. (Applause.)"

I guess you don't like the VEEP very much, huh TOP?

I don't get to see that much of her, but when she was in the senate, I found her to be a pretty cool broad overall.

Different things annoy different people--we can all agree on that--
but Vice President Harris doesn't seem that bad to me.

I remember Mike Pence, Dick Cheney, and Dan Quayle, after all.

I do not wish for her to ever be closer to the presidency than she is now... don't care for her... you say that you don't see much of her... if you did you'd understand why so many live in fear of her ever being in charge of our wonderful country... she's very scary...;) and definitely not qualified to be vice president or president...nonono....

It's pretty hard to argue against reducing the population is we want humanity to exist a little bit longer.
[I personally don't care if it does or not, frankly.]

Volsrock and Earl are our two idiot crackers from Tennessee
so it's pretty presumptuous to imagine
that anybody gives a fuck about their opinion.

The posts from both of them are now redacted on my forum account,
but one can still imagine the lunacy with which they opine.

Yet you feel the need to tell everyone you have them on ignore. Who is the idiot?

California is rationing "DRINKING water"?

Most likely, stupid fuck. With some possible exceptions, drinking water comes from the same source as other household water.

So, yeah, idiot. Banning lawn watering and having a no-flush policy on your toilets IS rationing so one DOES have drinking water.

I'm sure that I would have equally strong concerns over some of your approved candidates, right, TOP?
