You are aware the water chills the further north, and last I knew, oysters don’t migrate
Irrelevant to me . The only oysters I eat are smoked from tins or oyster poboy sandwiches I get in south Louisiana which I never go to anymore.
Raw oysters are too expensive no matter where they come from.
I wonder why that is when they’re fairly cheap on French bread or in tins?

Because in a can they are often packaged with olive oil or something similar, plus they aren’t top line oysters, just like tuna

Worth the expense, and if you are at a legitimate raw bar the price is based on selection, and with the need to turnover the inventory, there’s always a less expensive choice
