Kind of like if I were to live elsewhere. It would make it harder to visit my dad and siblings and thier families. I would be less happy because of that. People that are not happy with thier families now....that's probably a different story.
 
Again, this would still be a cultural thing. Saying you are "satisfied" with life isn't the same thing as being "happy".

I can be happy and unsatisfied. I will always have further goals and am not planning on becoming satisfied any time soon. Each goal I reach opens further goals I have yet to reach, and until I have no more goals why would I maintain I was "satisfied"...

Life-satisfaction is a mistaken measure. They should simply ask if a person is happy with the direction of their life, not "satisfied" as that measure is different than happy by a long shot.

Satisfaction can mean so many things to so many people it is a worthless measure, IMO.

For me, a person who is satisfied is also a person who is not driving towards further goals, they've done everything they wanted.

Family's here, lots of public land for my hobbies, lots of lakes for fishing, swimming & skiing....I can think of no place I'd rather live. eastern oklahoma is pretty cool, y'all have some nice little mountains, and some good little rivers for kayaking and canoing. I dug the oauchita mountains in western arkansas for the same reason.

I agree with you. I can be happy anywhere. Hell, I lived in Texas for a few years, and I had a barrel of fun! I concur that A lot of it is just about attitude, and happiness to a large extent is self-inflicted. Or drug-induced. Ha, j/k. Cheers, looking forward to running a few rivers in oklahoma again someday, if I get down there!

well a Friday or Sat night in the Frech Quarter will show you more hot woman than you've seen in your lifetime.
Then you have Jazz Fest, Frech Qtr fest, Madi Gras, every 4th Superbowl, Final Fours. Best Live music clubs in the country, best tailgaiting in the counry, bars that close about 6am, best restraunts in the country.

Sort of like moving to The Netherlands because it's more liberal.

1) My family would have to pay hundreds of dollars to see me.

2) I can get pot here anyway.
