Under the leadership of the Chinese central government, Tibet enjoys regional autonomy.

Currently, policies and rights implemented in Tibet include: regional legislative authority empowered by the State, the right to use and develop the Tibetan language, and the administrative right of regional economic development.

Since the 1980s, a series of preferential policies have been implemented in Tibet, such as agricultural tax exemptions in agricultural and pastoral areas.

The autonomous region is permitted to protect, develop and utilize local natural resources. The import and export tax rate in the region is lower than the national standard rate.

Policies encouraging the local handicraft industry and private sectors are practiced in the region.

China attaches importance to education in Tibet. Children in farming and pastoral areas receive education free of charge.

Residents in Tibet are provided with free medical services. Naturally there are those who criminally persist in acts of terrorism. Perhaps your remarks relate to these few?

China routinely imprisons spiritual leaders, and then arrests those who protest their actions.

China has destroyed numerous temples and buddhist centers. China has destroyed 6,000+ buddhist monastaries since they invaded Tibet in 1949.

Hundreds of tibetans have been imprisoned for peacefully expressing their political and religious beliefs.

Our authorities arrest those whose behavior is a threat to social order and the security of the people. Do your police arrest criminals?

Your gov't destroyed 6,000 monastaries of one of the most peaceful religions on earth, and you claim they were a threat to social order and security?

Perhaps in China had not invaded Tibet.....

Nah, you will ignore that point as well.

And yet, China continues to subjugate Tibet, imprison buddhist monks, and has done nothing to rebuild the 6,000 monastaries it destroyed.

Concerning the article you posted, its odd that you cheer a nation "throwing off the yoke of imperialism" when they distance themselves from the US. But when a nation does that to China, you think it is terrorism and agree with the military actions that result in the slaughter of unarmed citizens and the imprisonment of spiritual leaders.

What 'nation' has done this 'to China'?

Name it. You cannot, therefore your argument is fallacious.

How is the Guantanamo prison camp shutdown progressing?

Tibet declared its independence from China, and China later invaded to reclaim it. This was not the will of the tibetan people.

How is it going? Its going better than the reform of your laogai. The people in Gitmo do have access to toilets, showers, and other basic parts of sanitation.

Tibet is a region, not a monoblock entity you can quote as if the will of the people is irrelevant.

If the people of Tibet wanted some form of change they would effect it themselves. The fact that it has not happened saddens you apparently. I wonder why?

They would effect change themselves? You have already defended the imprisonment of monks and the destruction of monastaries as necessary for keeping the peace. And now you say that since they have not instituted changes, that this somehow reflects the will of the people?

China imprisons people who protest and executes those who stand against the gov't. That is the sole reason Tibet is still under chinese rule.

Your authorties enforce your laws in Iraq and Afghanistan which are not part of USA. Then theose they have not killed (like bin Laden) are imprisoned without trial in Cuba which is not part of USA.

Chinese authorities enforce the law of China in Tibet, which is in China.

Educate yourself.

Tibet is part of China because the chinese military invaded and killed or imprisoned those who protested the action.

I have educated myself. I simply did not rely solely on a state owned news media to do so.

Tibet has been part of China for much longer than you say.

Longer than California Texas, Arizona or New Mexico (which you took by force form Mexico) has been part of USA.

In fact, is not your entire nation a product of theft and genocide visited on indigenous peoples by invading oppressors?

I laugh because you make such poor arguments.

I make a perfectly valid argument. Tibet declared its independence from China and was subjugated by the chinese military.

If the tibetan people want to be part of China, why does China imprison those who protest the actions of the gov't?

Tibet has been part of China since the 13th century. A 'declaration' to the contrary has no relevance.

You also imprison those who violate the laws of your nation for 'political' reasons, do you not?

Elsewise, why are American Indian Movement people in jails? Should you not release them and allow them to take possession of the lands they claim as theirs by right?

The reason why they invaded Tibet was a Chinese version of Hitler's Lebensraum.

You are misinformed.

The Dalai Lama reincarnation cult perverts ideology for the legitimation of power among the hereditary and ancient Mongol nobility. This superstitious belief is contrary to reason and science.

Some misguided Tibetans follow the Dalai Lama and obey him blindly. If he tomorrow orders these deluded ones to go to war against the authroties, if he urges them to a bloody revolution, they will all as one follow him, as their ruler to their deaths.

In 1913 the then-Dalai Lama claimed 'independence' while China endured it's Warlord era, civil war, and war of Japanese imperialism.

Tibet was still part of China. Thubten Gyatso made very limited contact with the rest of the world and Lhasa was for foreigners a prohibited city. Very few governments did a normal diplomatic recognition of this falseTibet. The Chinese governments continued, from time to time, to assert their right to suzerainty.

China restored order in 1950.

Tenzin Gyatso, The current Dalai Lama, beleives he will be the last Dalai Lama. He stated "The Dalai Lama office was an institution created to benefit others. It is possible that it will soon have outlived its usefulness."

Only a complete idiot like you would post a photoshopped picture and expect people to think it was real.
