HAHA - New EV battery factory in kansas is POWERED BY COAL!!

I can't believe how much the popularity of EVs butthurts the far right. They can't win this debate. EVs are here to stay and will eventually replace the gas car and there's not a fucking thing they can do about it except whine and repeat their anti-EV bullshit over and over.
Less than 1% of the cars on the road are EVs. There's a reason.

You numbskull that's the beauty of electricity. It can be created in numerous ways. I'm ok with some fossil fuel use as long as we're not over dependent on it or relying on it to the point of doing nothing but pumping out tons of byproduct fumes every second of every day.

Fossils aren't used as fuel. Fossils don't burn.
The primary component of exhaust in cars is carbon dioxide and water.

EVs burn more fuel than gasoline cars. They use almost twice the energy to go the same distance. That energy comes from a power plant. Most of them burn coal or natural gas.

Yeah, but they'll be cool once they start working. I can put a charging station in my garage and enjoy it.

I am not against EVs, I just don't think we need them to save the planet.

The planet doesn't need 'saving'. It's quite big enough to take care of itself.

These idiots don't realize we are a fly on an elephant's arse trying to tell the elephant where to go.

Nice try, but not even that will do it.
Mandates for EVs will, but that also means most people simply stop driving entirely, including those with EVs.

No way to charge them all.

Nah - the govt won't force people to use EVs. They'll expand the EV rebates and increase the ICE taxes and then people will "choose" EVs.

Just the mining of metals needed creates more pollution and is done by slave labor. Ev are made through inhumane labor practices

Try and do better. They are used in cell phones, computers, and many electronic devices. rare earths are used in many manufacturing processes. I read that there has been a lot found in America lately. Now that EVs are coming, mining companeis are searching for more and finding them.

Just the cobalt, really. The lithium mining doesn't use slave labor, but it does use and pollute LOTS of water in areas that tend to be devoid of water (deserts). It also uses strip mining.

The SDTC (formerly the State of California) EV mandate law
European Union ban

I think you had better pay attention to what is going on, dude. This kind of fascism to satisfy a state religion is going to result in revolt, possibly violent.

* There simply isn't enough power available to charge all those cars.
* Even if there was, getting that power distributed is beyond the capacity of any local grid.
* Even if all that were upgraded, the high cost of EVs plus the high taxes to support upgrading everything AND to maintain the roads will simply mean people can no longer drive. The economy in these oligarchies and dictatorships collapses.

RAAA. Are you STILL trying this chant? Are you STILL trying to compare a cell phone battery to the 2000lb battery pack of an EV????!? Gawd, you're dumb, Nordbutt.

I don't support affirmative action. I dared you to find proof that I do. You won't see it in my posting history.

I'm definitely not a "woke" liberal. Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens are my ideological heroes.

Paradox. Irrational. You cannot argue both sides of a paradox.
You have supported affirmative action, liar. That's racism.
