I remember 2003 way too vividly. I knew the instant that someone said "Iraq" that it was the wrong thing to do. And I'm speaking as someone who was 100% behind Bush when he stood at ground zero, with that fireman next to him. I wasn't ideological at that time - I was ready to support the President after the worst attack on America in my lifetime.
But I knew Iraq was wrong, as did EVERYONE on the left. Yes, some Democrats voted for it - but I don't see them as being the left. Just expedient politicians. And forgive me for not letting it go, but me and my "ilk" were not just ridiculed during that time, or told we were on the "wrong side of history." We were told we were traitors. Some (see: Dixie Chicks) had their lives threatened. And these are the people who were right all along, mind you.
This can never happen again in America. As long as I breathe, I plan to remind everyone of exactly what happened, and what the history was, and who is accountable.
