In a nut shell TA and most other of today's Republican's daily mind set starts out, "Democrats are always lying criminal stupid socialist scum, Republcan's means, no matter what will always justify the ends, and by the way, shut up about our means! Don't talk about trump!".

Precisely. they fear and dismiss what they don't understand as evil. But wait - even in Cheney's case where one of his own daughters is gay, and in Lindsay's case where he actually IS gay, they still campaign agains their own interests - and here's why:

A Republican politician will always have the means to circumvent their own rules. If Elon doesn't actually want one of his sperm recipients to go to term in Texas? He'll just fly her to New Mexico, pay for her room and board, make sure she's comfortable. But if a poor woman in TX is raped by her uncle and gets pregnant by rape from her uncle? It's god's will.
