so sayeth the courts today.
The USSC denied a hearing on williams v. maryland, a case that challenged the validity of marylands permitting system that denies all permits to people unless they are cops, security, or other professional positions like politicians.
The district court of DC today upheld gun laws banning 'assault weapons' and high capacity magazines, basing their decision on wording from Heller I, which said 'this decision should not be taken to cast doubt on long standing prohibitions' and rephrasing it to say 'long standing regulations'. So now in DC, any regulation or law that has been in effect for awhile can stay in effect, since the public didn't seem to care enough to change it when it was implemented.
the original intent of the 2nd Amendment is dead. welcome to your police state overlords.
