My charts are from the DOJ/BOJ website, run by a government that has, for the last 20 years striven to remove my right to keep firearms. MILLIONS of us own firearms and NEVER kill anyone. When you compare death rates between cars and guns and the number of guns vs. cars in the US guns are far less likely to kill than cars, and cars aren't SUPPOSED to kill people.

Bubba? Dude, I own season tickets for the Opera in Santa Fe, I drink microbrews, I eat Sushi on a regular basis, I was until a few years ago a member of our local wine club. I am as far north of bubba in most respects than your coonass is. On issues like guns, Bubba and I just happen to agree.

Anybody spewing NRA propaganda is a Bubba in my book.
England had 648 murders last year, we are approaching 20,000.
I wouldn't take you Bubba's guns away. But, we have to at least start by getting guns away from the criminal element.:clink:
 
Let me point out something to the less educated of you (Top). In the world of Products Liablity, when a product kills people, and it was not designed to kill people, that indicates that there is some flaw in the product. When you look at the number of said products in use, if the number gets high enough, people sue. Now, don't go off and think I am saying cars should be subject to product liability, but when you know that there is close to one gun for every man woman and child in this country and as few, statistically speaking, people are killed by guns in this country as there are, you know that guns really are not that dangerous. Like I said, the vast majority of us never kill anyone.

Perhaps you live in the make-believe world that a gun is your only defense, I do not .. nor had any family members raped or robbed by criminals .. and nearly ALL of them live in urban environments. No suicides either. Gun aversion is TAUGHT in my family. We teach it to our kids.

It appears that your wife's attacker didn't have a gun when you pulled yours on him. Why didn't you hold him for the police rather than relying on someone else to catch him?

I like statistics too brother .. and I'm sure you're aware that only about 25% of stolen guns ever gets reported .. which is why there are federal and state laws that mandate they get reported.

That being said, the source of the guns isn't really my point. Rather it's the violence that guns bring .. which is CLEARLY demonstrated by the very existence of guns in homes.

Non-fatal gun incidents has FALLEN to HALF-A-MILLION a year. That's something to celebrate?

Please, have all the guns you want .. but I don't need them to protect myself, wife, and family. I rely on the greatest weapon .. my mind.

I didn't hold because he ran. I was not going to get out and give chase, running down the street with a gun tends to get people like you calling the police saying I AM the bad guy and causes police to make mistakes that later they apologize for, to my next of kin. I and several other witnesses, none of whom raised so much as a finger to assist me, gave the Police statements that led them to his capture just 45 short minutes later. I did not shoot him because he was unarmed, had he reached down and looked like we was going for anything I would have shot him in the face and slept well that night.

My good brother .. I've faced crazy people with guns before. No eulogy for me, no sentencing.

I PURPOSEFULLY put myself in situations where I know people around me have guns when I interact with gang members and youth in efforts to control violence in the inner-city. No eulogy for me, no sentencing.

I do not live in fear.
