Her daughter would have yelled back, "sure mom" in this case and she would still be alive. Now, this wouldn't work if it was an actual shooter, but it might scare them off, telling them you called police. Mentioning you have a gun might also detour them.

1) I can't help but notice that the 'proper' authorities refused to release names and addresses because a cops house was involved.......and
2) I can't help but notice that zappa hasn't appeared back in this thread once it was revealed that a cop was most likely the shooter
