Gun crime has plunged, but Americans think it's up, says study

You mean the "populace" that wanted background checks vs. the "populace" that follows Corporate interests such as Fox News and the NRA since '05 ?

And of course your conclusion is the only possibility that this is occuring.

I guess the same holds true for all those who oppose having mandatory ignition lockout systems installed in ALL cars.

Did the majority of Americans want that? Did this just become rocket science for you?

Unless you get ALL Americans weighing in on this, then it's just another poll.
And heaven forbid that a poll ever, ever be slanted. :)

I want to ask you two questions and you can only answer with a yes, or a no.

1. Do you think that something needs to be done about the number of people killed in DUI accidents?

2. Do you think that having every vehicle equipped with an Ignition Lockout Device would help reduce the number of those killed?

No...it's just his rationalization for not having background checks. I still think he's either a criminal who can't pass one, or a supplier trying to protect his cash cow.

I know polls have bias but I'm willing to bet you never did any research on the polls concerning this topic............

Every poll was around 80-98%.

Polls are obviously slanted and bias. But if you only look at one poll (fox news) you are an idiot.

The PEOPLE control America. Not Corporations! Not Government! Not Fox News!

I'm guessing you are sitting in a lonely place thinking that the statistic favored you and if it didn't it was a "BRAINWASH".............gotta love America.....We even except you into our society...

I know you saw my entire post; because your response is 6 minutes after I posted.
But for some reason you seem to be scared of the last part.

I wonder who taught you to be so dishonest and scared.
Was it your parents or someone you associated with after you left your mom's basement?

I want to ask you two questions and you can only answer with a yes, or a no.

It's funny you said that because I"ve already determined that "Smarter than you" is a drug dealer. He made multiple posts about drug dealers and how they were shot. Yet every link showed/heard them firing at police before hand.

It's Liberty vs Anarchy which Libertarians have no clue about. I'm a good person and a Christian. I know I'm not going to abuse my Rights. But I'm not stupid enough to think that if all people were granted total Liberty we would have a peaceful society. That is just ignorance and has failed already. Some people identify with it because they don't have the brains do discuss deep politics. I can't judge them because they are a constant reminder of what Politics is about. Yet they are mostly idiots.

1) Since the strategy used already is showing success in large numbers then I would say it's ok to do it. My children are safer if an organized union watches out for them. (that being said I'm not a moron that doesn't look out for another Hitler........the Right repeats" they are lead into the slaughter" when traffic stops actually keep the slaughter from happening... this isn't rocket science kid.

2)I'm not sure what this question is asking. "does a punishment actually work and provide proof" ..........or maybe you can provide proof that ANY punishment works........You clearly can't since you can't notice that laws against drunk driving have lowered statitistics of drunk driving accidents.

But if the question was "does crime punishment work" that opens up a whole new window kid. Maybe you could learn something in that window. Do we punish crime even though we know it doesn't absolutely deter it? Or do we stop punishing crime because it doesn't work.........all the time...........idiot.

(ask another question *cracks knuckles*...........this is newb politics)

I think what he's trying to do is equate ignition lockout devices with background checks for firearms.

Which is dumb....because cars aren't designed for killing. They are designed for transportation. Second.... drunk drivers aren't malicious... they are stupid and should be punished, but they aren't out to kill someone when they do....the end result may be the same...but it's night and day the motivations behind it.

Drunk drivers were designed specifically to kill man.....You do know that we have drunk driving ranges set up where targets shaped as civilian familes are set up and we are trying to aim at that family while under the influence. I am noticed in my drunk driving practice area as the most significant drunk driver in the club. I can still run over a family after about 15 beer and it doesn't even phase me.

I flex while America and my actual Family is sad.

Apperently you are unable to follow directions, even when they've been simplified for liberals; ergo; I reiterate:

I want to ask you two questions and you can only answer with a yes, or a no.

And yet liberals feel that expanded back ground checks would have stopped the tragedies of children shooting their siblings; but they've been unable to show how. :good4u:

At least you're finally honest, as to why you're against closing the vehicular DUI loophole. :)

Oh, I get your uneducated angle finally....

"should drivers have to blow in a meter to ensure they are sober"

WELCOME TO AMERICA!..............

I'm going to bed. This is a 3rd grade debate.

Yet those drivers HAVE ALREADY PASSED A BACKGROUND CHECK!

Not too smart kid. Nearly EVERYTHING in America requires an Education check. If it didn't I would go to a Hospital today and become a well paid surgeon.

But you're ignoring the loophole that allows a drunk to drive a car, other then the one equipped with the lockout device.

May I interrupt your trolling to tell you he's already answered your question?

Now, I'll answer your question again, too, with an enhanced answer.

1. Do you think that something needs to be done about the number of people killed in DUI accidents?

Absolutely! And every single state in the nation, along with MADD, is working hard to strengthen laws to stem DUI deaths.

In response to new data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) showing 9,878 drunk driving fatalities in 2011, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is celebrating an historic milestone in the nation’s fight against drunk driving: the first time drunk driving fatalities have fallen below 10,000.

“This drop in deaths is an important milestone in our nation’s ongoing fight against drunk driving and is further validation that MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving® is working,” said MADD National President Jan Withers. “MADD urges state lawmakers to take advantage of recently passed federal funds available for states requiring all convicted drunk drivers to use an ignition interlock device.”

Not only did the number of people killed in drunk driving crashes in 2011 (9,878) drop by 2.5 percent from the number killed in 2010 (10,136), but this decline outpaced the 1.9 percent decrease in overall highway deaths. “Our efforts are paying off in lives saved and injuries prevented,” added Withers.

2. Do you think that having every vehicle equipped with an Ignition Lockout Device would help reduce the number of those killed?

See above. Dumbfuck troll.

Now, go away. You're proving time and time again you don't have the intelligence to participate like a man on this forum.
