Guess the DNC convention wasn't such a flop after all

Once again - the Dem convention rocked.

Fox poll out today has Hillary 49-39 over Trump. Reuters had her w/ an 8 pt. lead, as did NBC. CNN has her w/ a 9 point lead.

The convention worked. It was as good as people said it was. Positive vs. negative, hope vs. doom, dark vs. light.

Trumpovitch is still claiming the GOP convention had higher ratings than the Dem convention despite making excuses for the GOP ratings defeat last week. Sad!

"It’s all Trump all day long. That’s why their ratings are through the roof. In fact the Hillary convention which did very well but not nearly as well as mine, in all fairness, would’ve gotten one-third the ratings they got if I weren’t."

According to Nielsen, the Trump-dominated Republican National Convention drew a decidedly smaller audience than its star-studded Democratic counterpart, which concluded last night with Hillary Clinton’s keynote.

On the third night of both conventions, the Democratic conclave was watched by about 27.2 million people, including cable networks and public broadcasting, while the Republican event, billed as a “showbiz”-style spectacular by the party’s former reality-TV star nominee, registered about 25.2 million viewers.

Trump, who made an appearance at all four nights of the Republican Convention, refused any responsibility for the unremarkable showing. “I didn’t produce our show, I just showed up for the final speech on Thursday,” he told The New York Times after the paper asked why the Democrats won the ratings game.

So basically she is where she started before the conventions.

Whoopee. I can't believe what a stooge you've turned into.

Before the conventions she was about 2-3 points ahead in the polling average. Now she's about 5 points ahead. I'm guessing she'll top out at around 6. 2-3 points is probably the actual baseline once both convention bumps fade.

as I recall I watched her average lead drop from about a seven point lead to five to three to two to a tie to down by 1.9......you said it wasn't much of a bump and it should have been double digits.....I'm sure you're right and she should have that average up to at least 8.9 soon proving you were correct......

His gains earlier were geniune gains made during early July. They were not part of the convention bump. Adding in the convention bump barely took him over the top.

no you are wrong. he got a 9pt swing in some spots. He caught up in a lot of state polls. nate silver had him with a 57% chance of winning for the first time ever.

He only had a 57% chance in the nowcast, which is extremely spastic and responds immediately to changes in the polling (basically, if someone is leading in the polls right now, they will almost certainly be ahead in the nowcast). For comparison, right now, just a week after he was that high the nowcast, Hillary Clinton is 90% favorite in the nowcast. This isn't going to last.

He was barely ahead in the polls only average for like one day, with like a 1% advantage. The polls-plus average, which has the convention bump built in, had Hillary at around 60% throughout (though recently she's at around 70%).

so you had Simon and Troubled Waters.....unfortunately for you, you also had Hillary.....and troubled waters

But Jonie Loooooves Chachi, You should too, Pimp He's the best they could muster.

I think it was Trump's mouth in the week following the convention that created this.

Gotta love it when Faux News has Hillary up by 10.
