Russian troops got 'significant doses of radiation' after digging trenches around Chernobyl, Ukrainian power authority says

So....

The Russian Army decided, inexplicably to take over Chernobyl, not only to take over Chernobyl but to camp in the center of the most irradiated place in Chernobyl: The Red Forest.

While there the Russian Army, for reasons known to most soldiers, wanted to protect themselves from the sneaky Ukrainians who might shoot them so they dug trenches, right in the center of the Red Forest in the most radioactive dirt known to man. Living in the trenches got cold, it is winter in Ukraine as it is in all Northern Hemisphere nations, so they burned what was available, a bunch of dead trees from, you guessed it, the most irradiated forest on the planet The Red Forest. The smoke from the fires entered the lungs of the Russian Army camped in the most irradiated forest on the planet... Suddenly Russia noticed that something was wrong. Many of the folks leaving the Red Forest were suffering from acute radiation poisoning from living in irradiated trenches and burning irradiated trees full of Iodine-131 and Caesium-137...

These men are dead, their bodies just don't know it yet.

Thus Russia has earned what is probably the largest ever group Darwin Award.

Fun facts:

1. The claims are from Ukrainian sources.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said on Thursday that it's still working to determine the veracity of reports that Russian soldiers received high doses of radiation in the notoriously contaminated Chernobyl Exclusion Zone during more than a month of occupation.

2. The Russians gave it back to Zelenskyy.

In an update on conditions at the Chernobyl plant, Energoatom, Ukraine's state power company, said on Friday that all control and monitoring systems were operating normally, despite the removal of several containers and spare parts. Ukrainian workers who remained at the plant throughout the occupation to monitor it had remained safe from radiation, it added.

Poor sad dumb fucks.

If they stirred up all that dust and created radioactive smoke, wouldn't their vehicles, metallic personal equipment, phones, etc. also be radioactive?

What kind of leader does this to his soldiers?
