Grind, I understand and respect the libertarian nature of this board but when a poster is liberally using the n-word and talking about lynching and hanging people is there no line to great to cross?

This is why I'm not a libertarian. Although I am beholden to most of the movement's ideals, anarchy isn't one of them.

Actually I'm acting like a Republican. One doesn't have to be a SJW to respect basic decency.

well yes you are acting like a liberal republican, but you aren't acting like a conservative who values free speech.

Valuing free speech means tolerating things you don't like seeing or hearing as much as those things you do. There are plenty of things I don't like to see or read, but I just ignore them. You have board moderation tools at your disposal. You should use them. Or you can run to Daddy Grind to protect you from the mean words. There are probably plenty of safe spaces in California college campuses for you

The libertarian perspective plays into that.

Let's not forget it was the GOP congress that passed civil rights legislation despite the dems.
I'm down with free speech but what's gained from behaving like the fringe left ?

I would agree and I know for me it's hard to read when those words are being said, in this case written, and is a turn off for me when it comes to wanting to post comments in that particlar topic or even this place as a whole.

Oh that's a crock of bull. Go read your history before you say something stupid like that. It's the same crap Right has espoused.

The Civil Rights Amendment of 1964 had broad bilateral support from both parties when it was passed by a Democratically controlled congress. It was only Southern Solid South Conservative Democrats who opposed it and those Southern Conservatives subsequently switched over to the Republican party. That false narrative may fly with the uninformed and uneducated but it's laughably untrue to anyone willing to do a little objective homework.

Just ignore them. All political message boards go through these cycles where alt-right bigots start posting their racist hyperbole and our respect for Freedom of speech forces us to tolerate the foul stench of their presence to a certain degree.

Hey, quit your bitching.

This is the new "unified" America Trump promised.

Awwwww...

Someone's upset they got the America they've wished for since Obama got elected.

You said you were tired of PC run amok...you got what you wanted.

LOL, 0/10 Zap.

Am I surprised by the two faced response I got from a JPP Trumpkin?

Of course not.

He bitched and moaned about having to be "politically correct", now he's got the "new improved' America with 50% LESS civility and he's WHINING about getting what he wished for.

Again, 0/10 Zap.

I'm sure there's an online troll class you can go to for free to help step up your game. Keep your head up though!

1) first this is not my board, lest people forget. As far as I know I can't just create rules without talking to other mods.
1b) even if we were to create a new rule, it wouldn't be retroactive, so it doesn't solve the problem of face, your being here in the here and now

2) I personally believe in free speech and people using the ignore feature. If everyone did that there would be no problem.

3) That said, I will confess that having read his comments in the past that I very much have just wanted to just kick his ass out the door, so I am not completely unsympathetic

4) Myself and the other mods have asked multiple past times on this board for people to help us with the rules, and provide input on these types of things. I have asked time and time again that if people believe their is enough collective will for imposing a new rule, to create a thread about it and get people to weigh in. This thread is a good start, but I wouldn't want to put something in place unless a majority of the board supported it

5)
Face, Your should kill himself.

^ should that also be against the rules?

So in conclusion, please describe how you would want this rule to be written, while minimizing loopholes.
