Gretchen Carlson Sues Roger Ailes

I don't watch FOX so I didn't even know she was no longer there. Nothing surprising here. A raging anti-feminist right wing shill is now in need of the laws put into place by the women she made a living sneering at. And Roger Ailes is a pig. Who's surprised raise your hand so we know who the morons are.

She lost her job but let's face it, that's a small price to pay to not sleep with the human jello mold.

"Gretchen Carlson, a longtime host on Fox News, is accusing the network's CEO and chairman Roger Ailes of sexual harassment and retaliation.

A spokeswoman for Ailes did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Wednesday.

The lawsuit alleges that Ailes repeatedly "injected sexual and/or sexist comments" into conversations; made "sexual advances by various means;" and said to her last September, "I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you'd be good and better and I'd be good and better."

The suit says Carlson requested the September meeting because she was seeking to "bring to an end the retaliatory and discriminatory treatment she had endured."
Instead, the suit alleges, the "retaliation" continued through June, when her contract was not renewed.

The eight-page lawsuit, filed with the Superior Court of New Jersey, alleges that Ailes "has violated the New York City Human Rights Law." Carlson's attorneys told CNNMoney she is only suing Ailes, not the network.

At the same time the lawsuit was announced on Wednesday, Carlson wrote on Facebook, "As you may have heard, I am no longer with Fox News. I value your support and friendship, especially now, so please stay in touch with me."

Carlson joined Fox News in 2005 after five years at CBS. She hosted the channel's flagship morning show "Fox & Friends" until 2013, when she was reassigned to the 2 p.m. hour.

Reading the entire complaint is really disgusting. That effing Doocy. So this appears to have been systemic.

Carlson's ratings went down, but was it because of Ailes moving her or not? It looks bad though.
Not enough info to say one way or the other fer sure.

She's a raging anti-feminist?

She's long been vocal about the issue of sexism and sexual harassment in the workplace.

In 2012, Carlson walked off the set of Fox & Friends after her co-host Kilmeade made a sexist comment.

"Women are everywhere. We're letting them play golf and tennis now. It's out of control," Kilmeade reportedly said, to which Carlson got up to leave after responding: "You know what? You read the headlines, since men are so great. Go ahead."

In 2015, Carlson published a book, Getting Real, in which she detailed the sexually predatory men she encountered in the workplace.

Carlson has also been open about the sexual harassment she experienced as Miss America.

"I wasn't naïve, but at the end of my Miss America year, when two different executives attacked me during what I thought were informational interviews about jobs, I was shocked," she wrote in a Q&A on her website. "I didn't see it coming, and the worst thing about it was the shame I felt, as if I'd done something wrong."

"Later, on my first television job, it happened again when I was sexually harassed by a cameraman. Today's companies are more attuned to the issue, but the young women I talk to are still reluctant to report sexual harassment – just like I was – for fear that it will hurt their careers," she continued. "My hope is that with more women in the workplace, we can teach younger generations to be respectful, and also encourage young women to speak up when they've experienced abuse."

"It's equally important that we raise our sons to be accepting of women in the workplace and grow into men who model that respect," she added.

Can you still do that and be anti-feminist?

I plead ignorance to her views and just assumed she's a right wing anti-feminist because that is what FOX promotes. If she's not one of them, I would apologize to her but I doubt she read this.

What lovely statements by Kilmeade, those were said on air? Why do people watch this station? Do you find those kind of sexist statements funny Cawacko?

Depends on the context of when those statements are being said. If they are being said jokingly among friends and everyone understands that then I have no problem with it. People rip on each other all the time.

They don't give context to the above incident but if it was being said in a derogatory manner then no, that's not my style.

Since she walked off the set I'm guessing it wasn't said among friends and everything was cool. It's totally unprofessional regardless. I know SF used to think he was funny with his "ironic" sexist schtick, but if we were in a professional setting and he told me to go make him a sandwich, I'd file a complaint against him so fast.

And then of course the problem becomes, that's an excuse. And that brings us right back to the favorite accusation of all sexists; don't you have a sense of humor!? In professional settings (and not just there IMO), that's what is used to keep women in line. Go along to get along. The whole atmosphere sounds to me like a textbook definition of hostile workplace. And don't forget the Falafel!

I always had great repoire with my co-workers in the past. We had a lot of fun and we would joke/make fun of each other a lot but comments like that never really came up.

I do admit the article you posted really makes me feel sorry for her. It seems to read, in retrospect, like a cry for help. And it looks to me like she was constantly being harassed and demeaned and degraded by her two cohosts (DO NOT even get me started on Doocy having the gall to look down on anyone! He is the definition of stupid bimbo, or he would be if anyone wanted to fuck him) and her actual boss told her if she wanted him to step in she had to have sex with him. It's really horrifying. I wonder who else there is going through this shit?

Well, I'm not comparing you to superfreak don't get me wrong. First of all, when you were single you actually got laid, so right there...

I don't know much about her but I read she was her high school valedictorian, graduated from Stanford with honors and was Miss America. Those are some good qualities right there.
