On Tuesday, Perry’s defense team also called to the witness stand a forensics engineer who used photogrammetry or laser scans to analyze the events that lead up to the deadly shooting at 4th Street and Congress Avenue.
Jason Evans used surveying and mapping technology to determine how fast Perry was driving when he turned onto Congress Avenue and came up on a crowd of Black Lives Matter protestors.
“Mr. Perry starts initially at 11.9 miles per hour. He then starts to decelerate or slow down at the apex of the turn to 9.8 mph,” said Evans.
