With the planet the warmest it's been in the history of modern civilization, the federal government said Friday that "it's extremely likely that human activities, especially emissions of greenhouse gases, are the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century."

The contents of the report contradict claims by President Trump and his administration that continually downplay human contribution to climate change and question the ability of scientists to predict its effects.

"For the warming over the last century, there is no convincing alternative explanation supported by the extent of the observational evidence,” the report concluded.

The sky isn't falling, but sea levels ARE rising. Are you not aware of this? Should you really be commenting in a thread like this w/ that kind of knowledge deficit?

That's such a lame, unintelligent talking point you guys have. It was basically one Newsweek cover - it didn't have nearly the breadth of research & study that global warming does.

It's silly to deny "global warming" as a concept. The evidence is basically everywhere. The crux of the discussion is AGW (and I love it when you guys lose your talking points on that, and forget to acknowledge that yes, the climate is changing).

I'm not an AGW guy. I think it's possible man is a factor, but impossible to prove. I think there are a lot of more valid, compelling reasons to go domestic & renewable when it comes to energy.

Nothing like covering all the bases lol.

The global cooling theory lacked a political impetus: there was nothing in it that could be used as a justification for massive government takeover of the energy sector. Nobody could get rich selling carbon credits.

AGW has one.
