Great Barrier Reef: Two-thirds damaged in 'unprecedented' bleaching

They also have many children because many of them do not live long. Life expectancy is not good for many 3rd world countries.
Furthering this train of thought, the hope is that someone survives to provide care for the elderly parents.

Agreed. Yet, without looking it up, I'm pretty sure most pop. growth is in 3rd world countries given that most 1st world countries are near zero pop. growth. I believe that's why Merkel wants to import immigrants to Germany.

That is intriguing Bigdog. That never crossed my mind. Thanks!

This is just hysterical greenwash designed to scare the gullible only. The world was hotter during the Holocene optimum, yet somehow the Great Barrier Reef survived.

Yep, but Al Gorians don't even know what the Holocene is. Climate history is not a complicated subject that only voodoo priests have the magical power to understand. But, Al Borians just take their orders from the Goracle instead of investigating the facts. Lazy low information voters :palm:

16,000 years ago the sea level was 400 ft. lower and the GBR wasn't there. Sea level rose at an average rate of 4 ft. per century for thousands of years and corals survived. Thank goodness, the glacial period ended and the planet warmed up. If the planet were getting colder, that might actually be a cause for concern.
