The absolute best way to bring down a democracy is to eliminate the free press. It's one of the tenants of fascism. Trump can't do this directly, but he has finished what the Republicans started many years ago. Discredit and demonize the press for reporting what the Republican movement has been doing in front of our faces. Muddy the waters so that people don't know what to believe.
