A guy from my high school went there. Before that experience, as a 16-year-old he was as mature as a 25-year-old. By the time he finished college, he acted like a 16-year-old and never grew up.

The income data miss the point, taking for granted that college graduates deserve to earn more just because they do earn more. That class-biased indentured servitude puts inferior people in superior positions. It is the hidden cause of American decline.

Here's one of many articles on the benefit of going to an Ivy League (top 25 school). Not sure how you argue against this. I have no idea what industry you work in but you clearly don't understand the networking and benefits/cache a degree from one of these schools carries.

"Smart in school, dumb in real life" is a dangerous half-truth. Graduates show learning disabilities in grammar, logic, and history. Only stupid people think that college graduates are smart in school. Until students are paid a salary higher than they can expect from working full-time, such indentured servitude will only attract those from the shallow end of the talent pool and a few nerdy escapists who are afraid to grow up.

Interesting that football stadiums across the country are full on Fall Saturdays with adults watching college football. College is the greatest time in many people's lives. The love for one's alma mater doesn't leave because one gets older.
