Grading Obama

Well first of all? I'd like to say that I don't trust any politician. Though Obama is looking pretty good right about now.

Actually, other then the fact that Obama is digging a bigger economic hole? He has a pretty good record.

Obama care which I support but still leaves too much power in the hands of Insurance companies that can up their rates at will.

His job plans include American protectionism.

Increasing taxes for the rich, removing loopholes for the rich, ect....

Now he is tackling another major problem. Student debt. But the problem is high cost and lack of jobs. He needs to work on the root causes, not apply band aids.

Also he was complaining about banks not giving any more credit(so was Michael Moore) on CNN. That is because you are all ready in over your head America!! You racked up your credit card and they have lost confidence in your ability to PAY!!!

I really enjoyed seeing Micheal Moore on the Piers Morgan CNN show. He should be there for an entire week. What I didn't enjoy is hearing all the Americans that were struggling because of the unjust economic climate now in America!

Reality check:

If colleges and universities weren't raising rates at an unprecedented and unsupported rate, the loans would not be hitting quite as hard. Instead of blaming banks we should be looking at the reasons why colleges are suddenly more than 5 times more expensive than they were not too long ago.

Can you tell me why Obama would rather blame the banks for giving loans that are guaranteed by the government than blame the actual schools that are causing the actual problem?

Ummmmm I guess you missed this part.

Also the fact that the banks or whoever it is that give easy credit to both students and men in uniforms(military)/(some times at predatory interest rates) are also to blame.

What are your thoughts?

that shouldn't be too damned hard to figure out. todays job market has employers giving preference to college grads for either employment alone or higher salaries. with college degrees that much in demand, universities can rape the public at will. Even if said college grad is dumber than a box of rocks like topspin.

true to a point, but no university could charge their exorbitant rates (mostly private) but for students obtaining student loans.

I give him a c plus
Too much, war hawking too much prohibition
I'll have to see Romnies plan, but I can see why Obama leads him/them

Obama probably doesn't deserve re-election. The way he handled the wars, especially Afghanistan, was disappointing to say the least. The policy on marijuana is inexplicable. Obamacare seemed rushed & more like something that was thrown together than a thoughtful attempt at such a far-reaching policy.

In other areas, I think he's done well, but a C+ is about right. He could get a B if he called off the dogs on pot...

College inflation didn't go up faster under Obama, sorry fools. Here is the issue, college has been going up near double digit inflation for over a decade or two. Basic economics, see... Supply and demand.
As ever more people graduate college annually, the rate is now up to 25 percent. You have millions of kids graduating with 30,000 plus in debt. compounding things in recessions it takes recent grads longer to secure that first job.
Unemployment is still below 6 percent for grads, but as the supply of grads increases the premium decreases.

Out of curiosity, what was disappointing about Afghanistan? He did pretty much exactly what he said he was going to do.

UMmm isn't that what we are on this board for? To debate and educate each other?
An intelligent debate requires an intelligent basis of argument. You failed to provide a logical premise. Since you can't acknowledged that my assessment that you are simply "a moron" is spot-on.

And it's a nonsensical policy. We're just repeating mistakes that we have made in the past, and mistakes that the Soviets made with respect to Afghanistan specifically.

What did he do wrong in Afghanistan? Its a loosing battle started by bush. The policy on marijuana? Are you saying he is anti-pot? I'm upgrading him to an A!!!! Obamacare(although not perfect) was a start and no one else had a better idea.

The major problem I have with Obama is that he continued bush's irresponsible spending. He should have tighten the belt as soon as he got into office. Though it doesn't surprise me with him backed by wall street......

Fair enough. I took your comment to mean that you are disappointed because Obama is pursuing a policy other than the policy that he campaigned on in 2008.
