GOP still trying hard to make voting harder?!!

Yeah...those pesky Republicans and their health insurance mandate.

Hopefully, if and when Obamacare's repealed, we can replace it with what we really wanted, single payor insurance, without having to capitulate to the Republicans!

First off, you're exaggerating. But by that logic, should the government also transport people to the polls? After all, if they have to drive or take a taxi to the polling station, that could be considered a "poll tax."

1. Show how I am exaggerating? I just had to drive to my hometown to get an original copy and it cost $30. The gas to get there cost $40. The fact that I own a vehicle enabled me to make the trip cheaper than someone who didn't own a vehicle. The last time I took a taxi it was over twenty dollars.

2. No, that is just your distraction. No one said they should be given a ride, but they shouldn't have to pay to vote either. Paying to vote is the only issue here.

Writing checks isn't a privilege of being a citizen. The elderly and poor, who are oftentimes the most affected by these rules, live from benefit check to benefit check and don't have checking accounts. They depend on a debit card sent to them by the government*, which doesn't have a photo on it.

*Not really the govt, but a contractor who manages issuance of benefits.

What kind of pinhead (gawd, I hate childish name calling!, grow the fuck up, ok?) can't read an article?

See? Nowhere in there does it say one word about photo ID, yet there are several examples of voter disenfranchisement. Perhaps you should quit calling others childish names and learn some reading comprehension? Better yet...

Try this forum...it's more age-appropriate for you, mkay?

But they have a pin number for the card and if they lose it, they are going to have to provide a picture ID to request a replacement.
