Not every victim is affected the same way by the violence, some women never look back or at least are not totally traumatized by it, others suffer deeply. The date rape victim can be as mentally devastated and and have trust issues as the woman who was severely beaten. Every woman is different.

Also date rape can be extremely violent, even beyond the violence of shoving your dick inside of someone who said no. But I totally agree with you. No one knows what's going to break someone else. PTSD is present in rape victims of all kinds, every rape is different yet the same ( this has always amazed me yet it's true). Have you ever known someone who was rophied? They sometimes don't even know what was done to them in front of who.

Best to follow Obama's advice - we don't need to start parsing rape.

Wait - you're disagreeing with WB. That means you're "ignoring" the violence of victims who are beaten/brutalized. That is the only way he can 'win' the argument.

Claiming that calling rape rape is harming women who were beaten during their rape is probably one of the most offensive claims I have ever seen made.

No woman was ever harmed because another woman's rape was taken seriously. Not even women who are told they weren't raped because they weren't virgins. The harm was not done to her by taking the virgin's rape seriously. It was serious. The harm was done by dismissing her own claim.

This is pitting woman against woman and it turns my stomach.

I'm not buying it, anyway. I think that's someone's gross misinterpretation. I doubt seriously that any decent therapist would put that forth, what bs.
