GOP Hates New Miss America?!!

You know I like you and have a lot of respect for you but are you really claiming there aren't racist Democrats? I can be just as partisan as the next person but you have some serious blinders on if you actually believe that. Do you not remember the calls of racism during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary? These racism calls weren't directed at Republicans. I threw two links in below for examples of Democratic racism.

You're the exception Cawacko.

If this or any forum is a microcosm of real life, conservatives display more racism than liberals. Go through the names of the regular posters here and you'll see what I mean.

Deflection from Biden and Hillary to anonymous interweb posters noted.

While there are some racists who are democrats, in general racists want a party that reflects them (as do we all) and therefore tend to flock republican.

Look at the policies of both parties.

Therefore, when Ken assumed the a*hole tweeters were repubs, it was a logical assumption.

Sure, a few of them might have been democrat; but chances are they were repub

You're making a couple of big assumptions here.

1) That the people who made these comments are political. We have no idea if these people follow politics at all or if they even vote. We have no idea if these comments weren't made by idiot teenagers who aren't even of age to vote.

2) You're also assuming everyone is either a Democrat or a Republican when that clearly isn't the case.

Well, I'm not a liberal. From our point of view almost all Americans are obsessed with this antiquated concept, but the ones who exhibit the insane attitudes we associate with the right are markedly more rabid, always.

It's also too bad that the right has to associate nearly every issue with their own ideology and see it as a challenge to themselves. Beauty contests being the example this time. It appears to be a fear of deviating from the status quo and that's consistent with the real meaning of conservatism.
Then there is race which is automatically a hot button item and so consequently they fear a challenge to their ideology in that respect too.

All I see is the left accusing the right. How can you paint an entire group because of the actions of a few? Is that supposed to be constructive? It doesn't even need to be said that we're all equal. Just because a few idiots try to rile everyone up, you decide to take the bait and then return exactly what they want.

Weren't you ever taught to ignore the stupid kids?

You're probably right about it being the actions of a few. But it's definitely the few on the right that have taken the position that beauty contests are just fine and not racially prejudiced. If that is not common to the rest of the right then I'm open to hearing your argument that says so. I supposed it could be true!

Ignoring the stupid kids is pretty difficult to do on this forum. I usually see something a little better than that in Anti-Party and Iolo and perhaps a few others. Perhaps I should include you but I'm not familiar with your posting habits yet.

That might pose a problem for them.

You've got to be the biggest asshole on this entire forum. Do you enjoy that reputation?

Trust me, you have a real social problem and it's going to come home with the chickens soon if you don't do something to correct it.

Good point. But based on what's going on in the US, and what goes on in this forum, I just can't blame Ken for jumping to the conclusion that it's mainly GOP'ers. Racism is coming heavily from the conservatives; and while yes, there are racists in the Dems (as I've already said) it's not dictating policy and we seem to have a lot fewer - at least a lot fewer that speak up.

"a few"? the whole conservative wing is actively pursuing anti-minority policies - If you want us to not judge all for the actions of the whole party, work on your party to change. Don't tell us we should ignore the racist crap coming from it. Leading republicans are making racist statements and proposing anti-minority laws. That's how we can paint a whole group.

Oh - and in this case, I doubt the comments are coming from kids. Because you know what? Kids don't watch the Miss America pageant. They also are more tolerant of diversity than their elders.

Does anyone watch the Miss America pageant? I thought these were online comments posted after an article or an announcement of the winner in which case you wouldn't have to have actually watched the event?

And young people are definitely most tech savy than many elders. And while young people as a whole may be more tolerant there are millions of young people and it only takes a few.

I have no idea who made these comments. I'm just surmising. But to me it could be young people trolling just as easy as it could be anyone else.

I'm sure Tekkygal can't back up these statements with evidence...but since she's pretending to ignore me, I predict Pissiefan will leap in the breach, tampon string ablaze...

I used to watch the Miss Just Plain Politics pageant.

Until that embarrassing year when Desh was doing a cheerleading routine during the talent portion, after got stuck to the floor after doing a split.

Rune had to break the suction with a crowbar.

The really funny thing is that Rune has a point. There are studies that indicate people become more liberal as they age. He's just too stupid to find them.
