In the case of Hassert, which is what is being discussed here, it is defined as pedophilia because Hassert was a person of authority, he was a teacher. HE is described as a pedophile.

Mel Reynolds (D- Ill) was indicted for sexual assault and abuse of a 16 year old campaign volunteer. He won election after the indictment. As expected, he played the race card. He was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault and solicitation of child porn in 1995. In 2001, Jesse Jackson hired him to work for Rainbow/PUSH promoting efforts to reduce the number of black males going to prison. Yes, that's the same Jesse Jackson that fathered a bastard child while counseling Bill Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky case.

Seems Mel continued his criminal activity by failing to file income tax returns for 4 years between 2009 and 2012. He failed to show for his arraignment.

Mel considered a run for the same 2nd District from which he resigned and that had been vacated by another criminal, Jesse Jackson, Jr.

During nearly 30 years as a state and federal lawmaker, Dennis Hastert presented himself as a champion of children.

Hastert supported the Child Abuse Prevention and Enforcement Act of 2000, which among other measures, sought to prevent and punish the sexual abuse of minors.

Hastert took a strong stance in a statement.

"It is important to to stop those predators before they strike, to put repeat child molesters into jail for the rest of their lives."

Hastert sexually abused five students when he was a high school teacher and wrestling coach.

Hastert's descent started with the enforcement of federal legislation that he championed: the Patriot Act.

The law requires banks to report cash transactions over $10,000.

The act also makes it illegal to structure transactions to evade that reporting.

Hastert tried to withdraw $3.5 million to compensate a man whom, at 14 years old, Hastert sexually abused when he was the boy's coach.

A bank teller supervisor contacted Hastert and said "the bank needed to understand his transactions pursuant to the PATRIOT Act," prosecutors state in their 26-page court filing. The filing also notes that Hastert crossed a bank officer who explained the institution needed information about Hastert's cash withdrawals to comply with the Patriot Act.

"Defendant stated that he was aware of the law," prosecutors wrote, "but that the PATRIOT Act was just for terrorism and he was not a terrorist."

Hastert's evasive answers led to more pressing questions and to his indictment, trial, and conviction.

I never said he was not a pedophile. But not for the 17 year old.

A pedophile is a person who has a sustained sexual orientation toward children, generally aged 13 or younger, Blanchard says.

You seem to have forgotten that this is the Republican who said repeat child molesters should be put away for life. Is that why you and the other Conservadurrs are so anxious to pretend he isn't a pedo?
