Goodbye forever, Isaac Hayes

He not only lived a full life, he made a huge impact on countless other lives.

In fact, I am willing to bet his music accounted for more than a few births.

The convention in Vegas sounds like fun. As far as speeches, I would only stay for those on two conditions.

#1 - We are allowed to drink heavily and heckle the speakers.
#2 - Dixie agrees to wear an electric shock collar so we can stop him.

(And if kathaksung gets to speak I need to know in advance. It will take me a while to find that sort of drugs again)

LOL

That was the point.

Ok, I'm in. And just in case Dixie refuses the collar, I will be bringing my beloved with me. You have never seen entertainment until you watch a sweet southern lady turn redneck in a social situation.

:corn:

I’m not going if Republicans are going to be speechifying. Republicans are bores, unless they’re in Men’s rooms, in which case they make for good entertainment. They’re monotonous and simple-minded. Unless it’s Cawacko who is going to be giving a speech, and that, only after he’s been drinking, and it starts out “hey bitches”, you can count me out.

Republicans talking is a deal-breaker.

Just the fact that you would think “Vegas” and “Let’s have speeches” in the same thought, is more proof, as if any were needed, that Republicans are a big yawn.

tee hee hee!!!

LOL. I was just figuring on how most conventions are dotted with important speeches, I figured I could dot ours with nonsense. Everybody show up with nametags... I'll talk on the esoteric nature of the Gormogons and how it links to Big Foot, while we all get drunk. Later I can attempt to make an important speech on the nature of the eyebrow.

I'd show up with a tag that read, "Stories4U" and a t-shirt that says, "Gotcha!"

Tiana maybe you and me should go and switch name tags. That should really screw them up.

Of course, we’ll dump them immediately afterwards and hit the pool-bar at the Bellagio.

We'd have to keep cawacko though. He'd be waaay entertaining!

The weird thing is that I had a stroke in 2007, stopped breathing, heart stopped, out for 4 days .. but I survived, thanks to my dog, without any disabilities other than a loss of memory.

I'd spoken to Isaac about him getting another dog for protection, not knowing at the time that my own would save me in a way I hadn't imagined.

Even in the picture you can see that he lost a lot of weight from his days as Black Moses. He ate healthy and excersised reguarly.

Like most black men, he and I have high blood pressure.

I guess it was just his time .. but the brother lived a FULL life.

I'm sorry BAC. I wouldn't have mentioned the South Park thing if I would have known he mattered to you in any way, but that's virtually the only thing I (or my generation) know about him.

I knew she looked a bit like McKinney, I just had no idea why she and Hayes would be next to each other.

Isaac and Cynthia have been friends for years. He knew Cynthia has been right on target about a great deal of what she has said .. and he knew that she arrives at her conclusions through the intense research she does.

He admired those who have the courage to speak truth to power.

Isaac, Cynthia, and Danny Glover have had a strong bond for many years.

If you think I'm radical, talk to Danny Glover.

Glover's from San Francisco. I've heard him speak. I was like 'this is the same guy who did those lethal weapons movies'? I couldn't believe it.

No problem my brother .. I like your honesty and my personal feelings shouldn't change that.

That being said ..

I'm glad that you've heard another perspective on his feelings about scientology and I'm sure you can respect the fact that he stood on principle at the expense of easy money.

The South Park team was so incensed by his quitting that they created an episode called "The Return of Chef" where they had him torn apart and eaten by a bear.

I don't think they'll be running that episode anytime soon.

He is quite amazing .. and he and Ike shared an affinity for Africa that goes beyond lip service.

His movie opportunities have been reduced because of his principled stand on issues .. but he doesn't care about that.

I went to see "Wanted" because he had a good role in it .. as the bad guy .. and because I admire Angela Jolle as well.

I imagined him that real dark chocolate and hes that beautiful dark Mocha brown. Handsome guy none the less.
