You are wrong, sir, on many counts, if you are looking in the right direction you don't even see the trash piles! The only thing you smell in Hoboken is the Maxwell House coffee plant, which smells like coffee, and isn't bad, when the wind is going in the right direction. Yes, it DOES smell like garbage in some areas nearby, but like Dung said, once you get below exit 7, and if you are holding your nose while looking in the right direction it's a different Jersey.
And you're thinking Long Island for the hypodermics. I can't remember a time when they washed up in Jersey.... since last week when I was last there...
